Payments FAQ
How the money moves.
Plain answers about transfers, cards, matching, fees and withdrawals.
Transfers and matching
Why does every event have its own account number?
So every transfer is clearly for that event. It's how Spray can match payments without anyone sending screenshots.
How does Spray know what a transfer is for?
If the amount equals an Aso Ebi price, or a whole multiple of one, it's matched to that package. If the sender's name matches a guest with an order, it goes to that order. Anything else waits for the host to assign, with a suggestion.
Can a guest pay in parts?
Yes. Partial transfers from the same guest are added to their order until it's paid.
What if someone pays from another person's account?
At checkout, guests can tell us the name on the account they're paying from, and we match on that.
Cards and currencies
Which currencies can guests pay in?
Naira by transfer, and pounds, dollars, euros or Canadian dollars by card, where the host turns them on.
How do card payments reach the host?
They're converted and settle in naira, like transfers.
Fees and withdrawals
What does it cost?
Setting up is free. Each payment has a small fee of ₦100 + 1.5% per payment, never more than ₦2,000, shown before anyone pays. The host chooses whether guests cover it or they do.
How do hosts withdraw?
To their verified bank account, from the dashboard. Withdrawals are free. New hosts have a limit until their identity is verified.
Does Spray hold the money?
No. There's no wallet. Money settles to the host's verified bank account.
